PRESIDENT'S NEWS...
The year 2009 was a busy but successful year for our PTA. Our new
fundraiser, “Boosterthon Fun Run”, was outstanding.
Not only did it focus on the values of character development and
physical fitness but it allowed us the ability to raise more funds
than ever before. We are extremely pleased to announce that with
the funds raised, the HCE PTA will be able to purchase or donate
the following:
- (3) SMART Boards™ for the school (which makes a total
of 5).
- “Imagine It! eSuite” (a standards-based, fully
integrated technology reading program for today’s elementary
reading classes) for the entire school. Note—this was a
program that was previously supported by CMS but was eliminated
due to budget constraints.
- $1,000 to each Specials Area (PE, Art, Music and Technology).
- $3,000 to Media.
- $500 for each grade level.
The HCE PTA is very grateful for the continued support of parents
and the community for Highland Creek Elementary School. We are striving
to ensure that HCE is where children can experience success.

VOLUNTEERING
Interested in Volunteering? If every parent
would volunteer for 3 hours per year, all of our volunteer needs
would be met.
PTA Board Openings
for 2009-2010
- Father/Daughter Dance - Oversees committee
to plan and facilitate this winter event, invitations, decorations,
photography, etc. Position is responsible for accounting for and
collecting funds.
- Schoolmates - Coordinates and promotes our
school's partnership with another CMS elementary school.
- Special Area Coordinator - (Art, Music, PE, Technology)
- Assist special area teachers as needed with special
events.

online with the PTA in the new HCE
PTA Manager. Here are step-by-step
instructions for first time users of the PTA Manager.
- As a CMS volunteer you must register with the CMS
Volunteer Management System before volunteering. Background
checks are performed daily.
