"GOLF FOR THE GOLD (& BLUE)"
Golf Tournament 2008
Believe it or not, the HCE PTA is already planning
our 2nd Annual "Golf for the Gold (& Blue)". Last
year's event was a tremendous success and lots of fun for the 80
golfers and more than 20 volunteers. We are looking to amplify that
experience this year!
If you would like to assist (in any way), we'd love
to hear from you. Please complete this
form and return it to your child's teacher by Friday, May 30,
2008. You don't need to have prior experience
in order to contribute - all you need is a desire to help. If you
possess that desire, we want you to join us at our kick-off
meeting!

We have already secured our $1 Million Hole-in-One
sponsor: Consuelo Souders of Keller Williams Realty.
(Let's not forget that last year one of our golfers came within
27" of winning the Million Dollar prize). Consuelo was so excited
to support our PTA, she actually committed to being this year's
Hole-in-Sponsor on the day of last year's tournament. We are hoping
to receive the same enthusiasm from the rest of last year's sponsors,
as well as other area businesses for this year's tournament.
Mark your calendar's now!!
We will host our 2nd tournament at Highland Creek Golf Club on Monday,
October 13, 2008 (Columbus Day), with a shotgun start at 1:00 PM
(dinner will be provided in the clubhouse following the tournament).
If you would like to support us through sponsorships or donations,
please contact our VP of Fundraising, Denise Lynch at 704-947-8147
or by email. More details
will follow as we get closer to this fun filled event.
2007: Only 27” Away From Being a Millionaire!!
Monday, October 22, 2007 was our First Annual “Golf for
the Gold (& Blue)” at the Highland Creek Golf Club, and
everyone in attendance had a great time!! With more than 80 golfers,
we took to the course at 10:00am, and finished 100+ strong (golfers,
volunteers & students) in the clubhouse with an awesome Awards
Reception. All the raffle prizes and golfer gifts, however, were
overshadowed by the fact that Ron Staskel nearly sank his $1,000,000
shot!! Only 27” away!!! Maybe next year!
The PTA would like to thank everyone
who supported this event!! Without the sponsors & volunteers,
this event would not have been the success it was. We would especially
like to thank our Community Sponsors!! Because of them, we are please
to announce that the PTA has met its budget for 2007-2008, and we
will not have to host a second fundraiser in the spring! So be sure
to thank a sponsor!!
