Current Opportunities...
EOG Proctors Needed
We are planning our End of Grade tests which are scheduled May
19-22. If you are able to to help proctor the test, please contact
Mes. Copeland at 980-343-1065 or at h.copeland@cms.k12.nc.us by
May 9th.
Testing will begin at 9:30 and should be completed by 12:00.
We will have a brief proctor training at 9:00 each morning before
testing begins. If you are able to help on multiple days you will
only need to attend the training on the first day.
Calling all Businesses...
The 5th Grade Celebration Committee is looking for a business
to "sponsor" a gift for our 5th grade students - we
would like to get each child an autograph as part of their moving
up ceremony. If you own a business, or know someone who does,
and would be interested in sponsoring this, either in part or
in whole, please email Vicki Taylor at march2127@aol.com.
Staff Breakfast
Did you know that our teachers and staff meet at school every
Wednesday at 7:45 for meetings and trainings? The PTA would like
to treat them to a parent-provided breakfast the 3rd Wednesday
of every month. In January, the kindergarten parents provided
breakfast. The schedule for the rest of the year is:
March 19 - 1st grade 
April 16 - 2nd & 3rd grade
May 21 - 4th & 5th grade
Please watch for more information to come home in Thursday folders
on how you can help us treat our teachers to breakfast.

Cleaning out your children's closets?
The Health Room is in need of donations of gently used elastic-waist
pants in sizes 5-12. There is also a need for new underwear in
sizes 5-10 and new socks in sizes S-L.
Aluminum Cans
Please bring your aluminum cans to the school's Can-Do trailer
(located in the parking lot). We are collecting ALUMINUM CANS
ONLY - please no plastic bags. It's good for the students
and the environment.
Family Focus Committee
Join the Family Focus Committee and help plan the fun HCE Family
events such as Autumn Fest, Father/Daughter Dance and much more!
